Building Communities, Nourishing Lives: PRHC Volunteers at DSWD Walang Gutom Kitchen
May 08, 2026

At Philippine Realty and Holdings Corporation (PRHC), our commitment to building the nation extends beyond the steel and concrete of our developments. We believe that a sustainable community is one where no one is left behind. In line with our vision and mission, PRHC partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the “Walang Gutom” (No Hunger) Kitchen initiative in Pasay City. The community-based food bank program provides free and nutritious meals daily for 250 to 300 walk-in clients during breakfast and lunch.

On April 25, 2026, the Human Resources (HR) team led a group of 20 dedicated employee-volunteers to the DSWD facility. Representing various departments across the organization, the PRHC team spent the day on the frontlines of the hunger alleviation program.

Service in Action
Our volunteers were fully integrated into the kitchen’s operations, taking on vital roles to ensure a seamless and dignified dining experience for the beneficiaries:
• Kitchen & Food Prep: Assisting in the preparation of nutritious meals to meet the “gold standard” of community service.
• Essential Stations: Managing the water station and “extra rice” distribution to ensure no one left the table unsatisfied.
• The “Tara, Basa!” Support: Guiding children who are struggling with reading through storytelling while contributing to the holistic environment of the DSWD program.
• Direct Client Assistance: Providing personalized care by assisting senior citizens and children who were unable to carry their own food trays, ensuring they were safely guided to their seats.

A Culture of Giving
This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity is a testament to the high-performance culture at PRHC, where excellence is measured not just by business success, but by our positive impact on society. By stepping out of the office and into the kitchen, our team members demonstrated that collaboration and professionalism are most powerful when used to serve the vulnerable.

Looking Ahead
PRHC remains dedicated to supporting government initiatives like the DSWD Walang Gutom program. We are incredibly proud of our 20 employee-representatives who shared their time and energy to make a difference. This partnership is just one of the many ways we continue to uphold our promise as a responsible corporate citizen—one meal and one heart at a time.
